The Aptiv factory in the town of Ineu, Arad County, will close in December, according to local authorities, who announced that production will move to a country outside the European Union. This decision comes after a reduction in the factory's activity in recent years, and Mayor Călin Abrudan mentioned that the production hall is too large for the current number of employees, which varies between 800 and 1,000. The closure of the factory will have a significant impact on the local budget, but the mayor hopes to attract new investors to compensate for the losses, already having advanced discussions for the opening of a new electronic components factory that will create 500 jobs.

The director of the Arad County Agency for Employment confirmed that the information about the factory's closure is unofficial, but preparations are being made for the reintegration of the laid-off employees. Additionally, employees have been informed about the cessation of production and the possibility of receiving severance pay.
