The study 'Values and Perspectives Among Adolescents', conducted by World Vision Romania, highlights the importance of family for young people in Romania, as well as their desire to build different relationships from those they grew up in. Almost 59% of adolescents want families that do not resemble the ones they come from, considering the negative experiences, such as lack of respect and verbal violence. The most important values for them are a united family (68%), health (64%), and love (39%). Regarding happiness, adolescents believe that a successful career (59%) and a stable relationship (57%) are essential. Additionally, the majority do not want to repeat negative behaviors observed in their families, such as insulting words (46%) and verbal violence (40%). The study shows a strong orientation towards gender equality, with 55% of adolescents being totally in agreement and 37% agreeing that family responsibilities should be equally shared between women and men. Adolescents feel prepared for adult life, but many do not consider themselves fully prepared to contribute to the future of the country. Family remains the main source of life models for 58% of them, followed by social networks (27%). These results underline the need for support from parents and the community in shaping values and preparing for the future. World Vision Romania continues to focus on the well-being of children and families, having a significant impact in communities across Romania.
