Teenager from Craiova detained after using tear gas in a shopping center

Representatives of the Dolj County Police Inspectorate announced on Friday that a 15-year-old teenager from Craiova is being investigated for several offenses, including assault or other violence, carrying dangerous objects, and disturbing public order. The incident occurred on Thursday evening at a shopping center in Craiova, where the teenager sprayed a tear gas irritant and fled. Investigators established that around 7:30 PM, the minor had a conflict with an unknown person, who allegedly struck him in the neck area.

Following the altercation, the young man used the tear gas spray, affecting not only the person involved in the conflict but also seven other nearby individuals. Among them, two women, aged 53 and 34, required medical assistance, with one being transported to the hospital. The teenager was detained for 24 hours and will be presented to the Prosecutor's Office next to the Craiova Court with a proposal for preventive measures.
