A man from Bucharest received a tax of 800,000 lei for a three-room apartment in Colentina

Ștefan, a man from Sector 2 of Bucharest, was shocked to find out that the tax for his 3-room apartment in Colentina amounts to 800,000 lei. He and his wife would have to pay, in total, 1,600,000 lei. After noticing the exorbitant amount, Ștefan submitted an online petition to report the irregularity. Other citizens from the sector also reported discrepancies in the displayed taxes, with Marius, another taxpayer, noticing an increase in the tax from 1,200 lei to almost 1,300 lei on the same day. Mayor Rareș Hopincă acknowledged the mistakes of the Local Taxes and Fees Directorate and apologized to the affected citizens, announcing a disciplinary investigation to clarify the situation and prevent such errors in the future. He assured that the tax calculation process had been completed and that there should be no more confusion.
