The National Company of Romanian Air Transport TAROM has decided to sell the four Boeing 737-700 aircraft, purchased between 2001 and 2004, as part of a restructuring plan approved at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on February 10, 2026. The general director has been mandated to finalize the transaction, and the planes will be put up for auction. Since the beginning of the restructuring process in 2018, TAROM has sold 17 aircraft, obtaining over 54 million euros. Currently, TAROM's fleet includes 14 aircraft, and the company will receive two new leased Boeing 737-8s this summer. The sale of the planes is part of a broader fleet modernization plan, which also includes the intention to lease four Boeing 737-MAX 8 aircraft. The main shareholders of TAROM are the Romanian State (98.01%) and other entities with minor stakes. The decision to sell was adopted with an overwhelming majority, having only one abstention.
