TAROM has decided to honor the memory of the legendary coach Mircea Lucescu by naming its first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in his honor. The usage protocol was signed on June 3, in the presence of the Lucescu family, including his wife and son, Răzvan. Răzvan Lucescu stated that his father's name, who dedicated his entire life to Romanian and European football, will represent an emotional tribute and a source of inspiration.

The aircraft, the most modern in the TAROM fleet, symbolizes performance and success, and the family hopes that it will always travel safely. Mircea Lucescu passed away on April 7, at the age of 80, leaving behind a remarkable career in football.
