TAROM and Etihad Airways, codeshare agreement allowing direct routes to Asia, Africa and Australia via Abu Dhabi

TAROM and Etihad Airways have signed a codeshare commercial agreement, signed at the IATA Annual General Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, which will allow passengers from Romania to access Etihad's global network through the Abu Dhabi hub.

Tickets will be available from July, and travel will begin on December 17, 2026, with four weekly frequencies. This partnership enhances the connectivity of TAROM's destinations in Romania and Europe with those of Etihad Airways. Passengers will benefit from a single ticket for the entire itinerary, check-in up to the final destination, and automatic baggage transfer.

Bogdan Costaș, the director of TAROM, emphasized the importance of this agreement for connecting Romania to international networks. Etihad Airways, with extensive coverage, aims to strategically anchor itself in Eastern Europe through this partnership.
