Tanczos Barna, Deputy Prime Minister and interim Minister of Agriculture, discussed the sale of fruits and vegetables imported from Turkey as Romanian products in supermarkets. This practice was identified following collaboration between ANSVSA, the Customs Authority, and ANAF, being considered unfair to Romanian producers and deceptive for consumers.

Barna emphasized that there was no evidence of exceeding the permissible pesticide limits in the European Union, but rather a problem of the origin of the products. He mentioned that authorities will intensify controls over cooperatives supplying products to major retail chains to protect local producers.

Barna highlighted the importance of more effective collaboration between ANSVSA and the Ministry of Agriculture to combat unfair practices. He also emphasized that the Romanian state invests considerable amounts in support of local farmers and that it is essential to eliminate any form of unfair competition.
