Tanczos Barna, the interim Minister of Agriculture: "Authorities must authorize payments so that subsidies reach farmers"

Deputy Prime Minister Tanczos Barna, who is acting as the Minister of Agriculture, made important statements regarding subsidies for farmers. He emphasized that the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA) and the Agency for the Financing of Rural Investments (AFIR) must authorize payments to ensure financial aid for farmers. Tanczos mentioned that the regulatory acts for vegetables, fruits, protected spaces, potatoes, and garlic are priorities in the approval process. He also highlighted the need to accelerate payments, considering that we are at the end of April.

Additionally, he addressed issues in the pork and milk markets, highlighting challenges related to swine fever and meat imports. Tanczos promised meetings with producer associations to discuss solutions. He expressed concern that important sectors, such as potatoes and sugar beets, remain without subsidies, while other unproductive areas receive financial support.
