Deputy Prime Minister Tanczos Barna stated that the Guarantee-Return System (SGR) has achieved a packaging return rate of over 90% in the last two months, nearly two years after its implementation. He emphasized the importance of this system for the Romanian economy and for a cleaner environment, mentioning that it is a project that Romania takes pride in at the European level. Barna highlighted the effective collaboration between RetuRO, producers, retailers, and authorities, which has contributed to the success of the initiative. He also mentioned that Romania will host a European Conference on SGR in 2026, providing an opportunity to present the results obtained and to share best practices.
