A fire broke out in a building in Reșița, Caraș-Severin affecting several apartments.

This morning, a strong fire occurred in an apartment building in Reșița, starting from a basement storage unit on the ground floor and rapidly spreading to the first floor. Fortunately, no casualties were reported; however, several apartments were affected by the flames. Firefighters responded promptly, managing to extinguish the fire.

Witnesses described alarming scenes, mentioning that they woke up to smoke and flames at their windows. According to ISU Semenic, the fire was caused by the thermal effect of electric current generated by heating appliances left unattended, which ignited combustible materials in the storage unit. The fire also affected the stairwell of the neighboring building and windows up to the fourth floor.
