Strong fire at the Rovinari Power Plant: Energy Group 5 has been shut down. Firefighters responded quickly, and authorities have not reported any casualties.

A powerful fire broke out on Sunday morning at the Rovinari Power Plant in Gorj County, in the area of the desulfurization installation. The flames caused the shutdown of energy group 5, the only one operating at that time.

The fire manifested at the level of some technical installations, and several teams from ISU Gorj were mobilized for intervention. The firefighters managed to locate and extinguish the fire in about two hours, before it could spread to other installations of the plant.

Images of the dense smoke were published on the Facebook page 'SALARIAȚII Complexului.Energetic.Oltenia', which mentioned that energy production was instantly halted by the protection systems.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported, and the exact cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be determined.
