On Sunday evening, December 28, Rânca is facing a strong blizzard, and the authorities have decided to prohibit access to the resort. Vehicles already in the resort are being driven down by snow removal equipment, and tourists cannot leave the area without being accompanied by them. The road has been closed from Novaci, and the restrictions will remain in effect until weather conditions improve.

DRDP Craiova has warned that, due to the red blizzard alert, the road to Novaci may be completely closed. Meteorologists have issued a red alert for snow and strong winds, with gusts that can reach 120 km/h, affecting visibility in the Southern Carpathians and the Curvature, at altitudes over 1,700 meters.
