The violent storms in recent hours have caused significant damage to the electrical networks in several counties, according to the announcement made by Distribution Energy Electric Romania (DEER). Almost 65 localities have been affected, and 531 transformer or supply stations have failed due to the strong gusts of wind.
At 10:00, the number of users without electricity was 27,283, decreasing from the peak of the crisis at 06:00, when nearly 39,000 people were affected. Operational teams are mobilized on the ground to isolate and repair the faults, but complete restoration depends on the weather conditions.
Additionally, the telephone assistance service has been overwhelmed with over 40,000 calls, leading to long wait times. DEER recommends users to use digital alternatives to report faults, and online reports are monitored and directed to the intervention teams.
