The Government of Romania launched, on October 8, 2026, the Stop Racism online platform, through which victims and witnesses can report antisemitic, anti-Roma, and xenophobic incidents. The tool is available at stoprasism.ro and aims to simplify citizens’ access to the competent authorities.
Reports can be submitted through an online form, without creating a permanent account. Users do not have to determine on their own whether a case falls under the Police, the Prosecutor’s Office, the National Council for Combating Discrimination, or another institution. Depending on the information provided, the platform automatically forwards the complaint to the competent authority.
After submission, the applicant receives a unique code that can be used to check the status of the report and official responses online. Access to this information is protected by a two-step verification system.
The platform also provides information about legislation, victims’ rights, the institutions involved, reports, and resources concerning the fight against racism and xenophobia. In the event of immediate danger or an ongoing assault, the authorities state that users must call 112.
The project was developed by ICI Bucharest, together with several public institutions, and is part of the National Strategy for the period 2024-2027.
