Before the cases reported for Romania, a series of bomb threats affected commercial flights across Europe. On Tuesday, seven aircraft were targeted, with several being diverted and inspected after emergency landings in Italy, Poland, Spain, and Bulgaria, while in some cases the alert was lifted without any suspicious objects being found.
On Thursday morning, a major incident involved an Airbus A320 operating the Dublin–Rome route: the aircraft was diverted to the French Évreux air base in northern France, where specialized teams intervened, while other affected flights were also reported in several European countries.
