Two German climbers, father and son, were rescued from the White Valley Wall in Bucegi after a complex air intervention.

Two German climbers, a father and son, were rescued on Saturday from the White Valley Wall in Bucegi, following a difficult air intervention. The two, mountain rescuers, requested help after getting stuck on an unknown route.

Rescuer Sergiu Frusinoiu was lowered from the helicopter onto the wall, but the unfavorable weather forced the aircraft to retreat. Frusinoiu managed to lower the two climbers by rappelling, in rain and thunder, building anchor points in the rock. After they reached safety at the base of the wall, the helicopter returned to evacuate them.

The victims did not suffer injuries and refused transport to the hospital.

The Germans were impressed by the Romanian intervention, stating that they did not believe such operations were possible in Romania.

Frusinoiu emphasized the importance of the team's professionalism and the evolution of mountain rescue services in the country.
