The Sanitary-Veterinary and Food Safety Directorate of Timiș warns that high temperatures increase the risk of foodborne illnesses, especially for fish and chicken meat.
The head of the Directorate, Flavius Nicoară, emphasizes the importance of purchasing food from authorized units, especially during the warm season. Fish, being the most perishable, requires special attention, followed by chicken meat, which can pose significant risks if not stored at appropriate temperatures.
Nicoară urges citizens to check the labels and storage conditions of meat products. He also advised farmers to ensure the hydration of animals, which are affected by the heat.
