The mayor of Skiathos, Thodoris Tzoumas, estimates that 15,000 Romanian tourists will visit the island in 2023, a constant number compared to the previous year. He highlights the cultural similarities between Romanians and Greeks, such as a love of good food and nightlife. The island, which is 90% dependent on tourism, will continue to work with Romanian travel agencies to attract more visitors. AeroVacanțe has started charter flights from Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca, expecting more than 4,000 Romanian tourists this summer.
