Starting in November, the Slatina County Emergency Hospital began treating patients with severe burns, becoming the first non-clinical hospital in Romania included in the AP - Burns Program. Patients are cared for in the plastic surgery department, which has 10 dedicated beds. Recently, the first patient with severe burns was transferred, and his condition is evolving favorably. The medical director, Dr. Florin Popa, emphasized that the modernization of the hospital was essential, including the acquisition of new equipment and the formation of a team of five specialized doctors.
The plastic surgery department will be relocated to the fourth floor, where new and modern spaces will be arranged, thus reducing the waiting time for interventions. Funding for the treatment of burn patients is provided by the Ministry of Health, which will allow the hospital to cover the high costs of treatment. During the meeting with the Minister of Health, Dr. Popa discussed the recognition of the team's professionalism and the future developments of the medical unit.
