Six border police officers from Timis are under investigation for corruption, accused of soliciting and receiving bribes from people trying to cross the border illegally between September 2023 and February 2024. The amounts of the bribes range between €20 and €700 and the investigations cover offenses such as bribery and trading in influence. Five of the suspects have been brought in for questioning and one of them is seconded to a European agency.
