Registrations of passenger transport vehicles increased by 19.7%, while those for freight transport rose by 15.5% in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the previous year.

According to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS), in the third quarter of 2025, new registrations of road vehicles for passenger transport increased by 19.7%, reaching 153,084 units, while those for freight transport rose by 15.5%, reaching 31,048 vehicles. New cars accounted for 30.8% of total registrations, with an increase of 4 percentage points compared to the previous year.


All categories of vehicles for passenger transport recorded increases, with buses and minibuses seeing a growth of 36.4%. Regarding vehicles for freight transport, trailers and semi-trailers increased by 20.1%. At the end of the third quarter of 2025, 65.4% of registered vehicles complied with Euro 4, Euro 5, or Euro 6 pollution standards.
