Severe weather warnings in Bucharest-Ilfov: red and orange codes for storms and hail

ISU Bucharest-Ilfov issued severe weather warnings on Thursday, after the National Meteorological Administration issued red and orange codes for the counties of Ilfov, Ialomița, Giurgiu, and Olt.

The first red code targets the localities of Grădiștea, Petrăchioaia, and Dascălu in Ilfov, valid between 17:23 and 18:00, announcing torrential downpours with accumulations of over 40 l/m², frequent electrical discharges, and hail. Another red code was issued for localities in Ialomița and Giurgiu, valid between 17:55 and 18:45, with forecasts of heavy rains, hail, and strong winds.

Additionally, an orange code was issued for the county of Olt, with similar warnings. ISU recommends that the population avoid traveling in the affected areas and follow the instructions sent through RO-ALERT messages.
