A serious incident occurred on a slope in Poiana Brașov, where a cable of the gondola dangerously lowered close to the base of the slope, putting skiers at risk. The incident happened near Lake Ruia, due to the freezing rain and the icy snow. A 40-year-old man, who was snowboarding, hit the cable, but fortunately, he did not suffer any injuries and did not require medical attention. Currently, Poiana Brașov attracts hundreds of tourists, with four slopes open at the upper part, having a snow layer of about 30 cm, and another four at the base of the mountain, with 50 cm of snow. The slope administrators warn that there are icy sections on some trails, advising skiers to be cautious and to adjust their speed.
