A company that manages a spa in a hotel in Brașov, along with four of its representatives, has been sent to trial for bodily harm due to negligence. The incident occurred on March 15, 2022, when a client suffered severe burns on 40% of her body due to a fire caused by serious safety omissions. The victim, Ana Oprea, has requested damages of 4.5 million euros. The case was taken over by the Brașov Tribunal Prosecutor's Office after stagnating for four years at a lower prosecutor's office. The investigation revealed that the spa was operating without a fire safety authorization and that the staff did not comply with safety measures. The victim emphasized in open letters that she felt justice had been delayed, comparing the public discourse about speed with the reality of her case. A precautionary seizure has been placed on the company's assets to cover the requested damages.
