Serious accident in Giurgiu: Two children and a woman injured in a collision. One of the drivers tested positive for banned substances.

A road accident occurred around 6:30 PM at an intersection in the central area of the municipality of Giurgiu, according to information provided by IPJ Giurgiu. The police were alerted via a 112 call from an anonymous caller. From the initial investigations, it emerged that a 32-year-old man, driving a car, did not give way to another vehicle driven by a 41-year-old man.

As a result of the impact, two minor children and a 37-year-old woman were injured and were transported to the hospital for medical care. Both drivers were tested with a breathalyzer, and the results were negative. However, the test for psychoactive substances of the 32-year-old driver indicated a possible presence of these substances, which is why he was taken to the hospital for biological sample collection.

The police have opened a criminal case for bodily harm due to negligence and driving a vehicle under the influence of psychoactive substances, continuing the investigations in this case.
