Selly, a well-known influencer, reacted strongly to the accusations from the Rise Project investigation, which claims that the mayor of Tuzla commune illegally changed the status of some lands to facilitate transactions with companies associated with Selly and his partner, Ștefan Lucian Gătiță. In a 30-minute video, Selly states that all transactions were conducted legally, based on official documents and opinions from renowned law firms.
He argues that the lands have been urban since 2006 and that the mayor did not change their status but confirmed an existing situation. Selly emphasizes that Law 17/2014 does not apply to urban lands, so the preemption procedure was not necessary. He also mentions that he sought legal opinions from three law firms, which confirmed the legality of the transactions. Regarding a crossing over the railway, Selly explains that it was authorized by state institutions and became part of the public domain of CFR after the completion of the works. In the end, Selly expresses his disappointment at the public reactions and hasty conclusions, reaffirming his determination to contribute positively to the development of the country.
