The police and prosecutors in Prahova are conducting 20 searches on Thursday morning in the counties of Prahova, Giurgiu, Constanța, and Ilfov, as part of two criminal cases. These actions target crimes such as fraud, abuse of office, intentional killing of animals, and forgery in writings. Investigations revealed that, between 2025-2026, representatives of two private animal shelters entered into contracts with municipalities for the management of stray dogs but illegally euthanized unadopted dogs. Additionally, a company prepared false documents regarding the capture of over 100 dogs, thus illegally obtaining over 100,000 lei. Nine individuals, aged between 28 and 56, will be interviewed as part of the investigation.
