The police of the Weapons, Explosives and Dangerous Substances Service in Dâmbovița conducted 41 searches on Thursday at the homes of individuals suspected of illegally purchasing non-lethal weapons with lethal potential, sourced from an online platform in Hungary.


The action was coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Târgoviște Court and the Directorate of Weapons, Explosives and Dangerous Substances from the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police. Following the raids, over 50 weapons were confiscated, including 30 rifles, 17 pistols, 6 airsoft guns, and a crossbow, as well as lethal and non-lethal ammunition. Investigations are ongoing to establish further details regarding the violation of the weapons and ammunition regime.
