Bucharest police conducted 15 searches in Bucharest and in the counties of Ilfov, Cluj, Iași, and Mureș on Tuesday, in a criminal case targeting fraud, robbery, and extortion. The investigation revealed that, between 2020-2025, five individuals, representing commercial companies, allegedly defrauded 15 victims by promising them roofing installation and repair work at reduced prices, while omitting the actual costs in contracts.

The suspects are believed to have obtained approximately 500,000 lei from the victims, forcing them to pay additional sums by exploiting their vulnerabilities. One specific case involves a man who coerced a woman into handing over money. The police seized items of interest and interviewed the targeted individuals, continuing the investigations under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Sector 2 Court.
