Sean Penn was absent from the Oscars ceremony, and the reason is his aversion to selfies and discomfort in large crowds.

"People should never take selfies with anyone. It's bad for you. It's bad for everyone. It eats your soul," Penn stated.

In a discussion with a CNN presenter, Penn explained that he does not feel well in large groups and mentioned that he prefers not to interact with groups larger than eight people.

Penn thus joins other celebrities who have given up the habit of taking selfies, including Paul McCartney and Emilia Clarke, who have explained their personal reasons for this choice.
