A school principal from Buzău has been placed under house arrest for bribery, having been caught in the act while receiving 10,000 lei.

The principal of a middle school in Buzău County has been placed under house arrest after being accused of bribery. She was caught in the act by police while receiving the sum of 10,000 lei from a witness, with whom the institution had previously signed two public procurement contracts worth over 50,000 lei.

Investigators discovered that the accused had previously requested 2,000 euros for fulfilling her official duties. Following these events, the prosecutor requested preventive detention, and the court decided on the measure of house arrest for 30 days. The principal is being investigated for the crime of bribery, having initially been detained for 24 hours.
