According to an analysis conducted by Save the Children Romania, 90% of teachers and school counselors believe that the students they work with are victims of bullying, with a higher frequency in urban schools (28.1%) compared to rural ones (13.4%). In this context, the organization inaugurated the Antibullying Resource Center, which provides resources for children, teachers, and parents, aiming to prevent and manage bullying. Only 43.1% of respondents trust anonymous reporting mechanisms, and the majority believe that antibullying activities should be an integral part of the school culture.
Save the Children emphasizes the importance of collaboration among all involved parties to create a safe school environment. The survey also highlighted that shyness, physical appearance, and clothing style are factors that contribute to the risk of bullying. The center will provide training for specialists, validated methodologies, and awareness campaigns, aiming to promote a non-violent social culture in Romania.
