Russian parliamentarian Aleksei Juravliov, vice-chairman of the Defense Committee in the State Duma, has requested the bombing of Romanian and Bulgarian ports to prevent the supply of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine. In an interview with the publication Lenta.ru, Juravliov stated that Ukraine is completely dependent on weapons obtained from abroad and that destroying Ukrainian production capabilities is a difficult task. He suggested that it is more effective to attack port infrastructure in Romania and Bulgaria to disrupt the supply logistics. His statements come against the backdrop of recent Ukrainian attacks on Russian ports, which have led to the blockage of Russia's oil exports. Analysts estimate that Ukraine has destroyed 40% of Russia's oil export capacity this year.

In the context of the threats, Vladimir Putin has enacted a law allowing private security firms to use firearms to protect critical energy facilities, in an attempt to prevent attacks on them. Russia has also announced that it will call on military reservists to defend civilian infrastructure, including oil refineries.
