The Russian Embassy in Romania said on Friday, after the explosion of the drone in the Port of Constanța, that "any attempts to associate" the event with the Kremlin are "unfounded".

"Considering the intentionally incomplete information disseminated by the Romanian National Defense Ministry regarding the maritime drone that exploded in the Port of Constanța, as well as three other similar drones drifting towards Romanian territorial waters, the Russian Embassy in Romania informs the Romanian public that these are Ukrainian unmanned maritime vehicles, used by the regime in Kiev to commit terrorist acts against civilian ships and to create threats to navigation safety in the Black Sea. Any attempts to associate, directly or indirectly, these drones with Russia and to attribute responsibility for the respective incident to it are baseless," the statement from the Russian Embassy in Bucharest shows.

The National Defense Ministry previously stated that the object that exploded was a drone of the type used in the war in Ukraine.

The filmed drone is similar to the Măgura drones used by Ukraine.
