The National Forest Administration – Romsilva has announced the definitive conclusion of a land ownership dispute lasting over 20 years, regarding the restitution of 4,641.1 hectares of forest land in the locality of Nadăș, Arad County. The dispute generated over 30 files and involved more than 100 court hearings in front of ten courts, culminating in a favorable decision for the Romanian state. The courts established that the lands revert to the administration of Romsilva – Arad Forestry Directorate, rejecting the request for the reconstitution of property rights based on a false certificate.
The turning point was the admission of the review requests, which confirmed the return of the lands to state ownership. Additionally, the court established financial obligations for the defendants, thus confirming the damage caused by the illegal exploitation of timber. Romsilva welcomes this solution, reaffirming its commitment to protecting the national forest heritage.
