Petromidia will produce for the first time a new type of polymer, which can be used in the automotive and food industries.

Rompetrol Rafinare has started the production of a new type of polymer, random copolymer polypropylene, as part of a strategy to diversify its product portfolio. This involved significant technical adaptations of the polypropylene plant, optimizing production parameters to ensure high quality standards. The new copolymer, which includes ethylene, offers improved physical-mechanical properties, making it ideal for applications with high technical requirements, especially in the automotive and food industries.

The estimated production is 11,000 tons per year, and the petrochemical division of Rompetrol Rafinare processed 114,000 tons of raw materials last year. This initiative strengthens the company's position in the petrochemical market and responds to the increased demand for premium polymers.
