In 2024, Romanians dominate tourism in Bulgaria, with approximately 900,000 visitors, a number that far exceeds tourists from other nationalities. In contrast, German, British, and other Western European tourists are in constant decline. Bulgarian hoteliers describe the summer season of 2025 as 'acceptable', but they are dissatisfied with the comparison to other destinations, such as Greece or Croatia, which are experiencing significant growth. Additionally, statistics show a change in the profile of foreign tourists, with Poland becoming the largest market for charter flights, replacing Germany. Currently, only 60% of foreign tourists arrive at the Black Sea by plane, the rest coming by car, the majority being Romanians.
