The Special Telecommunications Service (STS) has implemented an advanced system for calling the single emergency number 112, called 'Next Generation 112', which allows audio, video, and text calls. Currently, video calls are available only for people with hearing impairments in Bucharest and Ilfov, but there are plans to expand this service nationwide.

This system allows operators to alert intervention agencies with a single click and uses a precise localization method, independent of mobile phone signal. The average response time for 112 calls is six seconds, and operators can retrieve information in a short time.

Additionally, the service will benefit from a new graphical interface that will facilitate data management and incident localization.
