A 21-year-old Romanian woman was arrested at the Italian border for crimes committed in Germany, including a fatal robbery.

The Romanian woman, wanted for murder and aggravated robbery, was caught at the Fernetti border crossing point following strict controls due to the temporary suspension of the Schengen Agreement. She had a European arrest warrant issued by Germany, where in April 2024 she was involved in a robbery in which an 88-year-old victim died of intoxication. The young woman is now in the custody of Italian authorities awaiting extradition to Germany.
