Save the Children Romania: Less than half (49.3%) of students are optimistic about their future careers, while half of high school students are not satisfied with the way school prepares them.

According to a survey conducted by Save the Children Romania, 49.3% of students who will take national exams are optimistic about their careers. Almost half of high school students are not satisfied with the education received in school for professional preparation. The majority of interviewed students believe that developing their own business is more attractive than continuing their studies. The fear of failure and uncertainty about the future are the main obstacles in choosing an educational path.

Parents and digital resources are the most reliable supporters in discovering skills, while teachers and school counselors have a less significant role. The "What's Next?" project aims to provide students with vocational guidance and career counseling, contributing to an increase in confidence in their own future. Following participation in the orientation sessions, the percentage of optimistic students rose to 54.3%. The project aims to involve 2,700 students and 1,200 parents, with the goal of helping young people discover their potential and make informed educational choices.
