The Romanian Orthodox Church is asking for the support of the state and other recognized cults to obtain the exclusive right to determine the ways to honor the saints.

The Patriarch of the Holy See has sent a message in which he argues that a legislative amendment is needed to complete and strengthen the legislative framework for the exercise of religious freedom. He stresses that this is in line with existing legal provisions and that cooperation between the state and recognized religious denominations is essential in areas such as education, health and social action.
