On January 2, a 52-year-old man, with Romanian and Moldovan citizenship, attempted to enter Romania through the Sculeni Border Crossing, driving a car valued at 162,000 lei (almost 32,000 euros).

Following checks carried out by border police, it was found that the vehicle was listed in the databases as stolen from France. Although the man claimed that he had recently purchased the car and had no knowledge of its origin, the authorities decided to seize the vehicle for further investigation. The Border Police has launched an investigation for the crime of possession of stolen property.
