A 41-year-old Romanian driver was left without the car he was driving, following a check carried out by border police in Giurgiu. The incident took place on March 19, when the vehicle, registered in Luxembourg and valued at approximately 200,000 lei (40,000 euros), was stopped on DN5 as part of a BLITZ operation. Checks revealed that the car was listed as sought for confiscation, with the alert issued by Luxembourg authorities. The car was seized at the institution's headquarters, and the police continue investigations for the offense of retention. Upon completion of the investigation, the necessary legal measures will be taken.
