The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) announced that the second shift of the national specialized module for forest fire extinguishing (RO GFFF-V) has returned to Romania today, after a mission carried out in France between July 16 and 31.
Romanian firefighters were integrated into the French operational device, intervening in the affected areas of Ponteves, Brignoles, and Correns. Their missions included limiting the spread of fires, extinguishing active hotspots, and protecting homes. In the Correns area, the Romanian crews operated in a complex context, collaborating with French authorities and other European modules. At the end of the mission, the Romanian firefighters received appreciation from the local communities, and their activity continues with a third shift of the RO GFFF-V module in France.
Romania's mission in the French Republic continues through the activity of the third shift of the RO GFFF-V module, which is carrying out ongoing operational missions in support of the French authorities.
