The Romanian Customs Authority has put into operation 15 X-ray scanning machines at 13 border customs offices. These scanners, purchased as part of the 17.2 million euro project to develop the efficiency of customs control, co-financed by the European Union. Their aim is to increase border security, reduce waiting times and streamline the customs control process, helping to prevent cross-border crime.
