A 57-year-old Romanian mountaineer died on the Nevado Ojos del Salado volcano in Chile, at an altitude of 6,540 meters. The incident was reported to the Chilean authorities, and rescue teams began the operation to recover the body. The mountaineer was part of a team of four Romanians, including a guide, who had permission for the ascent. After reaching the summit, the man fell during the descent, dropping about three meters. Despite the resuscitation efforts made by his colleagues, he did not survive. The recovery operation was complicated by the altitude, but the rescue teams managed to intervene and bring down the body. Authorities confirmed that the trip was conducted in accordance with the legal regulations in Chile.
