The thefts took place between June 24 and July 16, 2024, in Ludwigshafen, Schifferstadt, Mutterstadt and Dannstadt-Schauernheim. The man is in custody in Bavaria, charged with aggravated theft. The German police investigation is continuing to determine whether others were involved in the crimes. Some €600,000 was lost in the thefts and the authorities have confiscated grave decorations found at the scene.
