The Romanian authorities have communicated that Romania has no aircraft deployed in Greece and there are no Romanian pilots in the region. It was also stated that all personnel deployed in Greece are safe, and Romanian firefighters are not near the location where the aviation incident occurred. This statement comes after two helicopters collided on Sunday during an intervention to extinguish a violent fire in Greece.

Previously, IGSU announced that Romanian firefighters sent to Greece intervened, alongside Greek firefighters, to extinguish a vegetation and forest fire that broke out in the area of the locality of Veniza, Attica region.
