Romania has won the elections for a four-year term on the Executive Council of UNESCO, during the 43rd session of the General Conference held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on November 7, 2025. This election underscores Romania's ongoing commitment to UNESCO values in education, science, culture, and communication, as well as the respect it enjoys on the international stage.
Romania intends to collaborate with other member states to promote international dialogue and cooperation, contributing to the implementation of the UNESCO Activities Program for 2026-2029.
